REHDA congratulates the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Najib Razak, for laying down the fourth pillar of the Government administration—the 10th Malaysia Plan, which is the final leg out of three others, namely the 1 Malaysia ideal, the Government Transformation Programme and the Economic Transformation Programme. The 10th Malaysia plan is premised on the main goals of high-income, inclusivity and sustainability for the next five years.

Outrageous: Low Cost Flats for the Rich

REHDA condemns the bold acts of governing officials as reported in the Sun today in purchasing low-cost housing meant for the low-income group. Such acts undermine the spirit of the low-cost housing system and make a mockery out of developers’ efforts in fulfilling our social obligations as imposed upon by the Government.
Levies for Foreign Constructions Workers Should be Reasonable

REHDA Urges Government to Reconsider Compulsory Broadband Facilities

Referring to the recent announcement made by the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to amend the existing law under the Uniform Building By – Law 1984 requiring the provision of broadband facilities at all new commercial and residential areas, the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (REHDA) lauds the government’s decision as the move will help tremendously in the advancement of IT.
Government to Review the Threshold for Foreign Property Acquisition

Following the announcement made by the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) on the new FIC guideline which came into effect on 1 January 2010, President of REHDA Malaysia, Datuk Ng Seing Liong, JP expressed his concern that the new FIC Guideline which have increased the minimum price for residential property acquisition by foreigners to RM500,000 and above will only deter foreign investment into the country.
